Preparing for DR

I had the great privilege today to send the below ~ and look forward to seeing how God will answer!

Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ,

A group of high school seniors in NJ have their senior prom coming up. As preparations began and friends in their class began buying prom dresses and making limo reservations, they asked themselves if there was another way to use that money. They approached their school coach who has a ministry using basketball to reach students for Christ, directing proceeds to humanitarian needs around the world. Together, these students and their coach have held basketball and marathon events to raise funds for an upcoming trip to serve at three orphanages and an elderly care home in the Dominican Republic through Fundacion Renacer.

On June 1-5, I’ll join the team ministering there as one of the adult chaperones on the trip. I am honored and excited to serve alongside these remarkable young people who are interested in being part of something larger than themselves, seeking to give, and seeking to do so all in the name of Christ and for His glory.

The Lord has answered prayer for donated supplies and donated as well as raised funds for the trip – praise God! I’ve attached a letter describing more detail of the trip.

I would be so appreciative of your prayers, specifically for

· physical, emotional and spiritual protection for the team

· God to grant us His Spirit for unity of purpose

· the Lord prepares hearts all around (both the team from the States as well as those in the DR) to learn what He’d have us learn from the time

· our love for one another bring glory to His name

Thank you dear faithful friends!
I look forward to sharing with you the praise report when we return!

Blessings,

~lg
